This is a recognized 'Hidden Disability'
'Chronic TVT/Mesh Implant Inflammation'
Breakthrough News - This is a 'hidden disability' and is recognized as a medical condition. We no longer have to call ourselves 'Mesh Sufferers' on official forms although we in 'Meshie Land' know each other as mesh sufferers. It is useful to know what to put on official forms for example: Disability Living Allowance, insurance, etc.

Request to have our medical condition recognised
I asked Mr Drake on the 3rd of November 2011 for his opinion about our 'hidden disability' we can't keep saying we are 'mesh sufferers' as this is not really recognized. I have authorization from Professor Marcus Drake we can use this medical condition term in the UK 'Chronic TVT/Mesh Implant Inflammation'. At last we have something we can put on insurance, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and other authorised forms. This is a great start and breakthrough news to those who are suffering from TVT's mesh/tape medical devices implants with mesh related complications.

Medical Condition: 'The PFS Syndrome (Painful, Firm and Short Vagina)'
Medical Condition Confirmed by: Professor Shlomo Raz, MD
Dr Raz is Professor of Urology and Chief of Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Urology at UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles.
DR. RAZ abstract from OBG Management, February 2009, Vol. 21 No. 2
Mesh infection, capsular formation, dissection of a thin vaginal wall, and excess vaginal-wall excision lead to the short, firm, and painful vagina. The use and abuse of mesh has created a new subspecialty to manage mesh complications. The PFS syndrome (painful, firm, and short vagina) is one of the most difficult complications to treat because,in many cases, it cannot be reversed without major surgery.
I will add more information to this webpage shortly, thank you for your patience.
You will see and hear from people who decided not to go ahead with surgery after reading our website. They have been saved from harm!
